First Annual Edward E. Ford Gryphon Film Festival
Under the leadership of Film Moderator, Derek Taylor and Director of the Arts, Kim Calhoun, Holy Child unveiled its first ever Gryphon Film Festival. Films spanned many genres including documentary, experimental, and foreign films. Students enrolled in Digital Design and Media, English and French all submitted work as well as several students independent from any class. Seventeen films from over 40 submissions were selected and featured in the film program. The remaining films were played in the lobby.
Following the official screening, Sophia G. claimed the title of Best in Show with her original stop motion video titled Wish Fish. In recognition of this achievement, Sophia was awarded an Apple iPad. Two other artists were named the People's Choice Favorites: Liz M. and her touching documentary titled Solitary Solitude along with Katie G.'s In a Flash, a senior's reflection on her years in high school.
