Academics

School of the Holy Child, Rye, is an independent, Catholic School for girls in grades 5 through 12 that offers a rigorous academic curriculum in a warm and friendly environment. Through a program that fosters academic excellence, technological competence, and moral and spiritual development, students become thoughtful and compassionate leaders in and out of the classroom.

Each year, our students engage in exciting and enriching activities that take them outside the classroom to actively learn about their global citizenship. Students are encouraged to take advantage interdisciplinary projects in the humanities, an active community service program, myriad opportunities to study and serve abroad, and summer programs that offer specialized instruction in the arts. The supportive faculty offers a rigorous curriculum in small classroom settings.

School of the Holy Child pursues this mission within a context of awareness and understanding of a contemporary world and culture marked by expanding technology and global interdependence. The School helps students to grow strong in faith, to strive for academic excellence, and develop social responsibility.

A Holy Child education is clearly defined, yet flexible. It has a tradition rooted in Christian values, enabling students to respond creatively to the challenges of life. The School strives to involve students, faculty, parents and alumnae in the creation of a challenging intellectual environement based on a spirit of love, trust and freedom.
