Italian Cultural Studies

For three and a half weeks during the summer, Holy Child students travel to the center of Florence, Italy, to attend intensive language and art courses, as well as enjoy weekend field trips to the surrounding cities of Siena and San Gimigniano, and over night trips to Venice and the Mediterranean Sea.

The Summer Arts Program in Florence, Italy, is open to all students who will have completed their sophomore year. Students do not need to have experience in fine arts or the Italian language to apply.

Holy Child affiliate institutions in Florence are:

  • Fuji Studio: Fuji Studio was founded in 1985 in Florence, Italy and is affiliated with several American Universities. The studios are located in the center of Florence in a convent built during the Italian Renaissance.
  • Scuola Dante Alighieri: The Italian language course will be taught at Scuola Dante Alighieri- One of the oldest language schools in Florence, also located in the center of town. Dante will specifically design an Italian course for the Holy Child students. For more information please check out their website: http://www.dantealighieri.it/homepageing.htm
