Final Day in Spain
Day 8: El Retiro Park, the Reina Sofia museum, and an amazing dinner performance!
Our last day in Spain was packed and joyful! We are grateful for these days full of amazing experiences and opportunities to learn and grow. I am so very proud of each and every student; they engaged deeply with everything they saw, overcame challenges with resilience, and demonstrated amazing maturity.

We began our last day in Spain with a walk through (park name) in the early morning hours. While there we visited a quaint and whimsical community garden and observed the variety of colorful plants. During our travels we came across a small lake where we observed the most adorable ducklings, turtles, swans, and koi fish. Afterwards, many of us split off to explore the park on our own. During which, we took photos, sketched, painted, wrote, and reflected.
Later that day, we visited Reina Sofia,
, a contemporary art museum. The power and presence of the contemporary art intrigued many of us as we explored the museum’s exhibits and collections. We snacked on some minty hard candies, happily provided via an exhibit and gathered many colorful posters.
In the evening, to commence our final full day in Spain, we ate a delicious multi course dinner at (place). We danced, smiled, laughed, and enjoyed the theatrics of the immensely talented singers and waiters.

It’s our final day in Spain :( We started off our day with a quick breakfast in the hotel lobby. We then took a nice long walk to the retiro park where we wandered for about an hour and a half. We came across a community garden called the cabana that the local students maintain to grow vegetables and plants. We had about an hour to walk around and sketch, watercolor, or write poetry based on the scenery in front of us. Once we met back up, we walked as a group to get lunch at Scarlett where we mainly had sandwiches, iced coffees, and smoothies! After lunch, we headed over to Museo Nacional Centro del Arte, Reina Sofia.
