At Holy Child, we understand that transportation is an important part of a family’s daily routine. Our students travel from communities throughout Westchester, Fairfield, Putnam, New York, and Bronx counties, and we are committed to helping families find the transportation option that best supports their schedules and needs.
The school day begins at 8:00 a.m., and we encourage students to arrive by 7:50 a.m. so they have time to connect with classmates and teachers and begin the day feeling prepared and confident. Dismissal is at 3:00 p.m. with on-campus activities beginning soon after. On Wednesdays, the school day for students begins at 9:00 a.m.
Transportation Options
School District Bus Service
Many New York school districts provide transportation to independent schools at no cost to families. In districts that offer this service, students generally must live within 15 miles of campus.
Because transportation policies vary by district, we encourage families to contact their local transportation office directly to confirm eligibility, deadlines, and route details.

Driving and Carpooling
Many families choose to drive students directly to and from campus, either on their own or through a carpool with other local families. Convenient access from major parkways and highways makes Holy Child easily reachable from surrounding communities.
