Financial Aid Through Clarity
Financial aid grants are need-based and are renewed annually. We carefully consider each financial aid application and make grants available to families with demonstrated need. Income, assets, liabilities, and the number of children attending tuition schools are some factors considered in determining need and eligibility for aid.
Approximately 30% of Holy Child's student body, grades 5 through 12, receives financial assistance totaling over $2.8M. For 2026-2027, the average grant is $18,000.
How to Apply
Holy Child partners with the Clarity Application as its financial aid application system. Recommendations made by Clarity are used to inform an equitable financial aid decision-making process.
Create a Clarity AccountTo get started, please go to Clarity and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. Clarity is also mobile-friendly, so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $65 fee to submit. Clarity will automatically grant fee waivers for those who qualify based on need. |

Financial Aid Awarding Guidelines
- In considering awards of Financial Aid from a limited pool of available funds, the Committee considers the student’s grade level and the family's cash flow, assets, number of dependents, provisions for retirement, and extraordinary expenses in assessing its ability to pay for educational expenses
- Copies of a family’s federal income tax returns are a required component of a Financial Aid application
- In the case of divorced, separated, or never-married parents, each parent is still required to file their own application
- Families are required to submit a tuition billing statement and a financial aid award notification from other tuition-charging schools. This paperwork is submitted through Clarity.

| How is financial aid determined? |
| The Financial Aid Committee uses the Clarity financial aid application as the basis for its determination of what a family is expected to contribute toward educational expenses. The methodology takes into consideration such things as taxable and non-taxable income, assets and investments, and makes allowances for things such as daily living expenses. The formula also considers family size and the number of children attending tuition-charging schools. We also account for factors relevant to living in Westchester/Fairfield Counties and attending Holy Child. |
| Is admission to Holy Child need-blind? Should I wait to apply for Financial Aid until I hear about an admission decision? |
| The financial aid application is a separate but simultaneous application process to the admission application process. It does not come afterward. All applicants for admission are evaluated without regard to a request for Financial Aid. However, because we often admit more students who require aid than we can fund, admitted students do not always receive aid even if they do qualify. It is possible to be accepted for admission but wait-listed for Financial Aid. |
| Does applying for financial aid impact my daughter's admission decision? |
| The Financial Aid Committee considers students whom the Admission Committee rates as strong candidates. While there is a sizeable aid budget, financial aid resources are finite, and we are unable to offer financial aid to all who apply. |
| If I receive a financial aid award, am I guaranteed financial aid for the duration of my daughter’s education at Holy Child? |
| Assuming you continue to show demonstrated financial need, we will do our best to continue our financial commitment to your family. You must reapply for financial aid every year with updated information. As long as a family's financial situation remains relatively unchanged, families should anticipate that their percentage of tuition support will remain relatively constant throughout their experience at Holy Child. Grants can change in either direction depending on significant changes in a family's financial circumstances. |
| Do I need to reapply for Financial Aid each year? |
| Yes. The school evaluates financial aid awards annually. Each year, we will ask you to file a new financial aid application through Clarity and submit any updated required paperwork. |
| Does Holy Child offer Merit Scholarships? |
| Yes, there are Merit Scholarships available for students applying to Grade 9. Click here for more information. |
| What are Holy Child’s expectations regarding a non-working parent during the Financial Aid process? |
Holy Child expects both parents to contribute financially to their child’s education. If a parent is not receiving a salary, the school will make a financial adjustment to the application to account for the income the parent might receive if he or she chose to work. Since each application is reviewed individually, there may be a number of exceptions to this policy. Please supply as much information as you can on your application. |
| We are able to cover the first year's tuition on our own. After that, we would need financial aid. Can we submit a financial aid application after our daughter is enrolled? |
Holy Child maintains a small Emergency Financial Aid Fund for returning families who entered as full-pay students, but then later, after enrollment, encountered dramatic, unforeseeable financial reversals. We are certainly happy to help where we can, but this fund is extremely limited. We strongly discourage the approach of applying as a full-pay student if a family knows that they have pre-existing financial needs not disclosed at the time of admission. This is a risky proposition because there is no guarantee that Holy Child can provide assistance. When a family submits an application for admission without a corresponding financial aid application, they are, in effect, stating that they believe they will be able to cover educational costs for the upcoming year and foreseeable future. Holy Child then budgets accordingly and commits its limited financial aid funds to other families. |
| Who are the students who receive financial aid at Holy Child? |
| Holy Child looks to support qualified students who will be able to contribute to school life in many ways. Holy Child has students who receive financial aid in all grades. Currently, our students who receive financial aid come from approximately 50 different communities in Westchester and Fairfield Counties, as well as Manhattan and the Bronx. Our families also come from a range of incomes and qualify for varying amounts of financial support. |
| May I appeal my award? |
| If you believe that there is a mistake on your application or that the Financial Aid Committee has not fully understood your financial circumstances, you can appeal the initial decision by completing the appeal process. The appeal process requires submission of additional detailed information on changes that have transpired since the original financial aid application was filed, and multiple appeals cannot be considered. |
