Academic Philosophy
At the Middle School at Holy Child, we believe these are the years when girls begin to discover who they are, how they learn, and the leaders they are becoming.
Serving students in Grades 5 through 8, our Middle School is designed to meet girls at this important stage of growth. We nurture intellectual curiosity, creativity, resilience, and compassion in a community where every student is known, challenged, and encouraged to thrive.
Inspired by our founder, Cornelia Connelly, and her vision of “joy in teaching and joy in learning,” we create an environment where girls are empowered to take risks, ask thoughtful questions, and discover genuine joy in the learning process.

Our dynamic curriculum invites girls to engage actively with ideas across disciplines, from language arts, social studies, world languages, religion, science, and mathematics to technology, engineering, and the arts.

Creativity in ActionWhether designing robots, conducting experiments in the science lab, performing on stage, creating visual art, or collaborating on hands-on projects, students learn to think critically, solve problems creatively, and work effectively with others. |
Experiential learning is central to the Holy Child Middle School experience. Through projects, discussion, leadership opportunities, and service-learning, girls connect classroom learning to the world around them and begin to see themselves as thoughtful local and global citizens.
Relationships are at the heart of the Holy Child experience.
Through close connections with teachers, advisors, and peers, students feel a strong sense of belonging and support. Shared experiences in the classroom, through arts and athletics, on field trips, and during class retreats help girls build friendships and confidence within a joyful, connected community.
